This Cloud-Native Data Management event was designed to bring together various stakeholders in the Kubernetes storage, application backup, and mobility community to discuss and share current challenges and solutions in cloud-native data management. The event shared customer journeys and highlighted industry experts across storage, data services, and backup vendors. Please enjoy the presentations.
Why is storage so hard in a cloud native landscape? This talk will focus on shifting how we view traditional storage attributes and metrics to how we can obtain better development velocity by embracing storage through a cloud native lens.
Given the rapidly evolving state of the Kubernetes storage and data management landscape, this talk will dive into details and cover how Kubernetes users can build a comprehensive data management strategy that can cope with the business, operational, security , and compliance requirements of large organizations.
We will demystify the building blocks of the Cloud-Native stack with a focus on state. You will watch the experts dive into these building blocks and address the key considerations including storage, Kubernetes distributions, and data management. The session will also include an interactive conversation to share practical advice and thoughts on setting the right foundations for critical data management functions like Kubernetes Backup.

Today’s new digital world requires all eyes open, including your third eye. New technologies such as cloud-native, blockchain, XaaS, and AI/ML have significantly changed how IT, Backup, and Storage administrators protect one of the most valuable assets in the world; data. In this session, learn how three invisible boulders are looming over the Cloud Data Management industry and what steps are required to see and implement them in your environment.
Sopra Steria, one of Europe’s largest IT firms, runs Kubernetes and OpenShift across a variety of environments including VMware, AWS, OVH, and OpenStack. This talk will cover their experience of running stateful applications in a Container-as-a-Service for internal use and their customers, including the French government, and how they solved challenges around data management for stateful cloud-native applications in a multi-cloud world. This talk will also cover how a cloud-native data management approach allowed their DevOps teams to scale and tackled roadblocks that had previously resulted in suboptimal data protection for Kubernetes.
Leidos is a global leader in the integration and application of information technology, and runs Kubernetes as part of its DevOps for in-house development as well as customer environments. The Leidos Enterprise Secure DevOps environment meets required regulatory compliance for operating with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and serves a large number of projects and users. This talk will cover their experience in development of single-tenant Secure DevOps environments that can be rapidly deployed while still meeting regulatory compliance, of which Kasten K10 plays an important role.
This talk will introduce Stateful Serverless computing, and describe how such an approach can enable a diverse set of workloads, with fully managed compute, storage, and event routing. We will cover why there is a need for native support for state management and the benefits it provides the developers in building build complex workflows and stateful APIs.
Join this discussion to learn more about what the future of Kubernetes holds. Everything from core features, 5G, the Edge, and new distributed data services will be discussed.
